Governing Board Meeting - 23rd March 2026

Board Members Present: Heidi Hernandez Gatty, Aimee Moss, Zetta Reicker, Sarah Talach

Board Members Absent: Wenlei Johnson

5:00 - 6:30pm Strategic Planning Meeting

6:30pm Regular Board Meeting

Annual Strategic Planning Meeting

The Walnut Creek School District Governing Board, along with Walnut Creek School District staff, students, and community members, came together to review the 2024-2027 WCSD Strategic Plan. Committee members had the opportunity to share their input in two breakout sessions, choosing from these focus area groups:

Academic Excellence: focus on AI staff implementation
Equity & belonging: National Equity Project work, with a focus on English Learners
Safety & Wellness: student support through district wellness resources and wellness centers
Family & Community Engagement: ParentSquare, Youth Truth Survey, transition year efforts

At the end of the evening, participants completed a survey on the Local Accountability Control Plan (LCAP) for 2026, which aligns with our Strategic Plan.

Regular Board Meeting

At the conclusion of Strategic Planning, the Board adjourned to their regular Governing Board Meeting. No action or discussion items were on the open session agenda. After opening for public comment, the Board recessed to discuss Closed Session topics.
